Roof Washing

Roof Washing

Our Roof Washing Process

  1. 1. Assessment:
    1. - We start with a thorough inspection of your home's exterior to identify problem areas and customize our approach accordingly.
  2. 2. Preparation:
    1. - We take care of any pre-wash preparations, such as covering plants or surfaces or spraying a bleach neutralizer and wetting throughout, to ensure the safety of your property. We will bag all downspouts (if possible) and catch all runoff.
  3. 3. Cleaning:
    1. - Our low pressure washing equipment, coupled with our commercial grade solutions , effectively removes all algae growth (black streaks) and kills moss, if present, from your home's roof.
  4. 4. Rinsing:
    1. - Proper procedure is to NOT rinse the roof afterwards of shingle roofs. Our soft wash method kills all organic growth that will disintegrate and fall off naturally. You don’t want to use any sort of pressure on shingle roofs as it can be dangerous to the roof and is not necessary for optimal results. We do, however, do a final rinse on all bushes and necessary surfaces. Metal roofs do require rinsing.
  5. 5. Finishing Touches:
    1. - We pay attention to the details, making sure no spots are missed. Your home will shine once we're done.

How To Prepare

Once you’ve scheduled your roof wash service here’s what you can do to get ready…

  2. 2. Turn off all exterior lights
  3. 3. Move or cover anything you don’t want getting wet inside or at-least 20 feet from the house
  4. 4. Bring all animals and their food and water bowls inside.
  5. 5. Make sure vehicles are away from the house.
  6. 6. Make sure we have at-least two car lengths available for our truck and trailer. (We usually will park in front of the house unless the driveway is long).
  7. - if you are having multiple services being done make sure to check the “How To Prepare” section on those as well.

FAQ

  1. 1. How often does your roof need to be cleaned?
    1. - Different variables can affect how often it needs to be cleaned. Shade is the enemy. Trees, areas of the roof that don’t get much sunlight, and the north side of the roof will all accumulate algae at a faster rate. We usually recommend roughly every 5-7 years. Just keep an eye on it and don’t let it get bad.
  2. 2. What about my bushes?
    1. - This is the most commonly asked question. We take all precautions to ensure the safety of your plants. Different plants are more susceptible than others but don’t worry.. that’s why you hired us! I tell all my customers the same thing- “we wouldn’t be in business for very long if we were killing everyone’s bushes!”.
  3. 3. Is it safe on the house?
    1. - Yes. Soft washing is the only way you should have your roof cleaned. We gently spray our commercial grade chemical solution and the chemical does all the work killing all organic growth. You never want to pressure wash your shingle roof.

*When you schedule a roof cleaning with Bumblebee Pressure Washing we guarantee all organic growth will be killed. If there is very heavy algae accumulation there will be some dead algae still on the roof when we are done but don’t worry- it dry up and safely come off on it’s own. If not, we come back and address is at no extra charge.
