Surface Cleaning

Surface Cleaning

Our Surface Cleaning Process

  1. 1. Assessment:
    1. - We start with a thorough inspection of the driveway, patio, and walkways to identify problem areas and customize our approach accordingly. Different surfaces require different pressures and chemical strengths. To clean your concrete or aggregate safely and effectively you’ll want a trained professional to determine the best plan of action.
  2. 2. Preparation:
    1. - Not much preparation is needed when cleaning concrete, stone, or aggregate. You just want to make sure the area is cleared and ready to go.
  3. 3. Cleaning:
    1. - We always “pre treat” all surfaces with a chemical solution to kill all organic growth on and in the pores of the concrete. This results in a longer time needed between cleanings and enables us to clean everything with minimal pressure. After pre-treating our top of the line pressure washing equipment effectively removes all algae, dirt, and whatever other surface level contaminants are present.
  4. 4. Rinsing:
    1. - We then rinse all dirty water off along with anything that has splattered onto the house.
  5. 5. Finishing Touches:
    1. - We pay attention to the details, making sure no spots are missed. Sometimes on more extreme cases a secondary post treatment is necessary.

*When you schedule your surface cleaning service you get this base process we just listed. If there is any rust stains, oil spots, paint, or any other sort of stain left afterwards it will be an up charge. We have our own “Bumblebee” brand of specialty chemicals to address just about any stain you can think of!

How To Prepare

Preparation is pretty simple with surface cleaning. Make sure everything is cleared (10-15 feet away) to the best of your ability. Anything big we can move. If there is a bunch of stuff that needs to be moved we can offer that for a small up charge. Also, make sure all vehicles are out of the driveway and at-least 20 feet away. Lastly, just make sure we have 2-3 car lengths of space in front of the home for our truck and trailer.

FAQ

  1. 1. How often does this need to be done?
    1. - That depends on the amount of traffic and shade your concrete or aggregate gets. We usually recommend every 1-2 years.
  2. 2. How can I protect my concrete?
    1. - We also offer driveway sealing, acid staining, and porch painting (see our sealing page for more details). We also sell water and oil base sealers for the DIY person and even have a video on our YouTube channel (Bumblebee Pressure Washing) on how to apply it!
  3. 3. Why is my driveway chipping away?
    1. - You may notice your driveway has started “pitting” or deteriorating. This has become common amongst driveways poured in the last 10 years. The best thing you can do is to have new driveways sealed immediately to prevent this. If it’s already happening then sealing as soon as possible I’d recommend to prevent further damage.
